Why not put them to use helping the youth of our community?

The youth in Family Connections are referred directly by their Probation Officers through the Juvenile Justice System. This program is offered in lieu of incarceration so these youth can be educated, rather than “doing time”. It is mandated that both the youth and a parent or designated adult must attend. This series of workshops is facilitated by the Project Re-Connect counseling staff and is designed to help youth make positive life changes and deter them from any further involvement in the Juvenile Justice System. It is an early intervention that deals with youth who have been involved in crime and/or criminal behavior.
Project Re-Connect has been highly successful at reconnecting teens with their families, their schools and the community. Positive changes in family values and strengthening of the bond between parent and child are self-evident by the time they have graduated the program.
During the workshops, changes occur in both the parents and the youth. This brings about positive transformation throughout the entire family unit.
