Hello All,
Family Connections, the core Program of Project Re-Connect, in Oakland, is now accepting referrals for our next session. Family Connections’ goal is to reconnect youth to their family, school, and community. The 6-week series facilitates conversations between families in search of understanding to help decrease the distance or tension within the relationships. In addition to discussions, activities are integrated into each workshop so all participants interact with one another., thus building the community within the group.

Who to refer:

  •  Youth having challenges in school
  •  Families who have had past traumas, breakdowns in communication, and or issues with trust or respect
  • Parents with youth (12-18) that must complete a parenting program (youth must attend)

Attached please find the flyer with the dates as well as the referral form. Completed referral forms may be faxed to (510) 482-1253 or emailed to Please send in referrals as soon as possible to ensure that all families receive an intake prior to the start date of group.

Intake is a very important component for us as an agency as well as for the families since it is our introduction. This process allows for the necessary paperwork to be completed as well as any additional preparation to be made to better accommodate families who may require it.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact our Program Manager, Marrika Lopes via phone at (510) 867-5265  or via email at
