Why not put them to use helping the youth of our community?

Project Re-Connect's Mentoring Program was developed in 2008 to provide youth graduates from the Family Group Counseling Program with adult role models. The program is held in conjunction with Be-A-Mentor, a Hayward based nonprofit organization that provides training and technical support for men and women who aspire to take on the challenge of being matched with first time youth offenders who have been involved in the Alameda County juvenile justice system.
The Mentoring Program actively recruits adults from the Bay Area to share their common interests with youth who are need of positive adult guidance to help steer them away from the elements of crime and violence initially led them to involvement with the Alameda County probation system. Once the youth are matched with their respective mentors for one-on-one contact, they are also exposed to a number of group activities at Project Re-Connect designed to create a positive atmosphere.
