Jean Lucido-President

Jean, the co-founder of Project Re-Connect, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology. Her 18 years of serving as both the Program Director, and later as the Executive Director, as well as dealing first-hand with issues related to Project Re-Connect have prompted Jean to become the current President of Project Re-Connect’s Board of Directors. Specializing in adolescent and family therapy, her background in education includes work as a counselor at the junior high, high school and college levels. A fundamental component of the organization since its founding, Jean is proud to continue her service to Project Re-Connect as an active board member.

Alva Gibson

Alva is a Registered Nurse of 15 years who has earned a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration. Her experience encompasses Pediatrics Nursing, Emergency Nursing, Utilization Management and Case Management. She is a member in good standing of both the NAHQ: National Association of Health Care Quality and the CPHQ: California Association of Health Care Quality. Alva believes children are the future and this is the reason she is proud to be an active board member of Project Re-Connect.

Susan Cecaci

A long-time resident of Oakland and mother of three, two of whom are Project Re-Connect alumni, Susan has worked in the Oakland Unified School District for 13 years. Passionate about serving those within her parish and community, Susan has helped serve those in need through a conference of The Society of St. Vincent DePaul over the past fifteen years. Currently a Wellness Consultant for Nikken, she finds great joy in enjoying the blessing of her two latest grandchildren. Susan is proud to be an active board member of Project Re-Connect.

Danyelle Marshall

Danyelle Marshall--Executive Director

Danyelle Marshall has been with Project Re-Connect since 2004; she possesses a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, and is an MFT intern. She provides psychological educational classes to parents of at-risk youth at Project Re-Connect. The youth population Danyelle works with is primarily between 12 and 18 years of age, though she also works with younger children. Danyelle works within the Community Colleges as a CalWORKS, EOPS and CARE and Gateway to College counselor. In addition, she teaches College Preparedness and College Success classes. Danyelle has been working with Community Colleges since 2001.


Brooklyn Williams

Brooklyn Williams-- Program Directorr

Brooklyn Williams is a graduate of UC Berkeley’s School of Social Welfare and native of the Bay Area. She specializes in program development and curriculum engineering, with special focus on emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and leadership development. Brooklyn appreciates the unique opportunity Project Re-Connect gives her to serve the “whole child”. As an advocate for educational reform, Williams has been featured on talk shows and radio stations such as KPFA,KMEL and KGO discussing educational strategies for the 21st century. According to the Oakland Tribune, “A generation tuned into Dr. Dre and Eminem is also listening to Brooklyn Williams of Oakland”.


Fransis Kasko

Francine Kakos-- Administrative Assistant

Francine Kakos truly believes in the mission of Project Re-Connect; she participated in the very first Family Connection workshop held in 1991 and began working at Project Re-Connect shortly thereafter at the request of the founders. Francine has gained an extensive working knowledge of the program through nearly 20 years of dedication and commitment. She consistently provides a high level of support to the Executive Director and works closely with various funding agencies. Over the years Francine has enjoyed many positive relationships with the hundreds of families that have been touched byProject Re-Connect.

Marrika Lopes --OutReach Coordinatorr

Marrika Lopes attended the Project Re-Connect Family Connection workshop in 2001 while attending Oakland High school. She has since received her A.A. degree from Merritt College and received her B.S. degree from California State University East Bay. Marrika now serves as Outreach Coordinator, conducting presentations on behalf of Project Re-Connect throughout Alameda County as well as co-facilitating the Wednesday evening Leadership Group.

Eric Gavidia

Eric Gavidia has received degrees in Political Science and Communication. He has worked in the Bay Area’s nonprofit sector since 2000 and currently serves as a Program Facilitator for the Project Re-Connect P.A.R.E.N.T./Gang Prevention Program. Eric also heads a Bay Area consulting firm that provides technical assistance, organizational development, fundraising assistance and sustainability expertise to nonprofit organizations.
